Dear Members of Concord Community Schools,

We are celebrating!!  We are celebrating 175 years existing as a school in Concord, Michigan.

And we want you to be a part of the celebration because you are already such an important part of the schools.

Beginning with the September 10, 2010 home football game and running right through the last school event of the year, all of us will have opportunities to help plan, execute, contribute and enjoy what so many, many people have built and sustained for over one and a half centuries.

There will be a parade celebrating some of the decades of the 20^th century.  Were looking for information and members of past graduating classesthe more past the better!  Were looking for teachers, principals, custodians, superintendents and anyone else who contributed to our schools.

Were looking for the history that resides in the hearts and minds of those of you who are our keepers of memories.  We want to develop displays/exhibits for the years events that show how far weve come, but how true weve stayed to the values and traditions that started it all.

Were looking for ideas....

Were looking for you.

And who are we anyway, you may ask.  We are the Concord Schools Marketing Committeea group of people dedicated to celebrating and promoting Concord Community Schools.  Weve met every two weeks for the past year and looked at what we could do to support something we believe in so deeply and are grateful to have.  Our committee sponsored the Concord Fan t-shirts you have seen on many of our students.  And we sponsored a couple of fund-raisers to generate seed money for the 175^th birthday celebration.

And you wont even have to join the committee if you dont want tojust call us or email us now with an idea to use during next year.  Let us know about someone who should be contacted directly if he/she may have artifacts to display.  Tell us if you would love to contribute some of your precious time to one of the events. And if nothing else, come to every event that is held. 

Lets be proud together  Lets celebrate together  Whether its a concert, a sporting event, or a community dinner, lets be Concord Community Schools in a very special way for the 2010-11 school year and celebrate the sound minds and solid character of the last 175 years.
